About the Founder
Joel D. Bradley
Author • Publisher • Scout • Coach • Teacher • Entrepreneur
Joel D. Bradley has spent a lifetime exploring the intersection of competition, human behavior, and storytelling. His journey has taken him from the financial industry—earning seven professional securities licenses—to the classroom as a high school English teacher, to baseball dugouts as a coach and player development strategist, and ultimately to professional scouting with the Baltimore Orioles across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia.
A graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in Creative Writing, Joel believes every meaningful pursuit begins with a story. Whether evaluating a baseball prospect, writing a book, mentoring young athletes, or building new ventures, his work has always centered on understanding people and helping them reach their potential.
As the author of Death by Data, Swipe Wright, and other works in development, Joel combines decades of experience in athletics, education, finance, and publishing to explore timeless questions about leadership, innovation, faith, and the human experience.
Today, as an author, publisher, entrepreneur, father, and grandfather, Joel founded Ellis County Books to publish works that challenge conventional thinking, preserve enduring truths, and leave a legacy for future generations.
"Every meaningful journey begins with a story—and every lasting legacy is written one chapter at a time."
